The people of the USA will make their choice today. And what a choice they have, as far as many are concerned it is the choice between bad and evil. The question the rest of the world is asking is how on earth did we get to this position at all? How can the American people be voting for the two worst candidates in electoral history? Everything points to the electoral system. The system seems to have collapsed upon itself and much like voting systems we see in TV favorites such as X Factor and Strictly Come dancing (United Kingdom references) its seems the voters have decided to play games with the power of the vote.
Rather than be ‘sensible’ and vote for the right candidates, the candidates with knowledge, intelligence and real talent, they have voted for the least likely candidates that are going to cause problems for the makers of the show. If Honey G can make it through to the final rounds of X Factor why can’t Hillary and Donald make it through to the final vote for the Presidency. Both events are equally absurd.
The reality seems to be that we, the voters, are fed up with being manipulated into voting for the people we ‘should’ be voting for and instead we have decided to have a bit of fun. Simon Cowell may be putting on a brave face and waxing lyrical about Honey G now, but he will start to sweat if she reaches the final. A record contract with Honey G is the last thing he wants.
And in the USA the people who put Hillary and Donald in place are sweating as well, the last thing they wanted was for their candidate to win. But now that have no choice, the vote is taking place today and we will see the bad or the evil as President. My money is on Donald Trump, I think the voters will continue to play games with the system. They want their voices to be heard, they are sending a message to the administration in just the same way as people in the United Kingdom sent a message to the UK government about Brexit.
The message is simple – we don’t actually care about the candidates or the cause, we want you to realise we have a voice and we want things to change. It’s time to change the system.
