International Inspiration has merged with Concern Universal to maximize their impact and take advantage efficiencies to confront poverty in the world today. The two issued a dual statement announcing the merger. The new name for the merged companies will be United Purpose. The blended goals and missions worked well together and the future is a stronger and more robust core to tackle their mission against poverty.

What brings these two successful organizations together is the mutual devotion to work with the poorest of countries throughout the world and aid them in finding sustainable solutions to inequality and poverty. They focus on education within developing countries and shoring up resources for residents. Currently Concern Universal has a staff of 25 but also 600 worldwide, to help challenge the issues that are relevant to the cause.

International Inspiration uses sport to create an education-focused platform for developing countries. It has a staff of 2 members. United Purpose, with its headquarters in Cardiff, has adopted a new method of approaching financing, which it believes will be key to growing the brand and tackling poverty that much more efficiently.

Chair of International Inspiration, Sir Martin Davidson will team up with the United Purpose board to suggest solid support and advice to the charity’s newly forming board of directors. Originally this merger was first discussed more than 12 months ago but it has taken time to draw up the official merger along with its guiding principles. One of the main focuses of the merger was to allot for zero job losses, but rather keep everyone employed within the two companies on staff.

In a released statement chief executive of Concern Universal Kathryn Llewellyn stated that as the world changes, new demands and expectations are needed. These changes affect NGOs and how they are structured for maximum efficiency and relevancy to the market. She also noted a need to re-imagine the way they approach poverty to avoid irrelevance and dreaded extinction to the market.

In the midst of the merger, company heads have voiced their concern to stay true to the initial missions of the company’s origins. Their goal is to teach people how to find their ways out of poverty on their own. This is not a mission of saving; more appropriately, it is a mission to teach people how to save themselves. Their strategy is reflected in the merged company’s statement of purpose.

The Charity Commission stated that Concern Universal posted 19.3m-pounds in revenue at the ending of tax year on 31 March 2015 and it also posted an expenditure of £18.5m. International Inspiration had revenues of just-under 820,000-pounds and expenditures of £1.2m throughout the same accounting period of time.
